My therapeutic approaches are behavioral, cognitive behavioral and mindfulness based. When working with children and teens, I include communication with parents and with schools as indicated. I have recently been participating in continuing education programs and retreats regarding the application of mindfulness and mindfulness meditation to psychotherapy with adults, teens and children, and I am incorporating these practices into my clinical work.
My testing work includes developmental screenings of preschool aged children for language, motor skills, play skills, social skills, self-help skills and self-regulation difficulties. I also conduct psychoeducational assessments of school-aged children through young adults to determine the presence of learning disabilities, disorders of attention and/or executive function, memory deficits and processing/production speed problems.
My assessments are designed to meet the criteria required for accommodations on standardized tests (such as the ISEE, SAT and ACT), admissions tests to graduate programs (such as the LSAT and the GMAT), for professional boards and licensing exams (such as the dental boards and California Bar Examination), as well as for school-based accommodations from elementary school through college and graduate school programs.
